Last year, the Wall Street Journal called Coeur d'Alene the best place to live in the US. At our location, you will enjoy the calm and serenity of the area while being close to town, a perfect setting for weekday business travelers who want an ideal environment to work remote, or those coming to scout the area and experience what living in CDA really means. For the first time since we made this property available (2 yrs) we are opening for Thanksgiving through New Years. Our guests have specifically asked for this, so we are taking their feedback. It's now open for booking!
Located 17 miles south of CDA, this modern, stand-alone guest house/cottage provides all the comforts of home and then some. Privately-owned, the10-acre property is accessed via a private security gate, features a full-size heated pool and hot tub overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene. The property uses non-toxic cleaners and materials throughout for a safe and worry-free environment for guests who have sensitivities, from the pods for the washer to the UV-light cleaned hot tub. Enjoy daily farm fresh eggs from the adjacent coop, take morning walks on the property, or sit on the deck of the guest home with a morning cup of coffee made in the fully-equipped kitchen with European appliances. The kitchen comes stocked with basics for our guests, from an assortment of drinks, (organic and non, alcoholic and non) spices, soups and even a few gluten free pancake mixes and the like. Every space in the 2nd story living area offers 180 panoramic views of Lake Coeur D Alene and the Palouse fields. The guest house includes full entertainment area with Xbox + multiple games (COD & more!), Netflix and other streaming services and 3 yoga mats for usage on the deck for the zen-enthusiasts who want to take advantage of the morning sunrise or sunset before taking a dip in the pool (kept at 83.5 degrees) or spa.
Guests from last year will note that dozens of trees were felled due to a late-season drought, but it improved an already beautiful view! Privacy blinds throughout maintain visual discretion from the main house and outside. Minutes from the home is Shooters Grill and marina for casual, lakefront dining. Local activities include golfing, spa and gambling (10 minutes south on I-95) at the Coeur d'Alene Resort, Spa and Casino. It's home to one of the top ranked public golf courses in the country, Circling Raven Golf Course. Four hours south of that is the world-famous Hells Canyon, and to the east is white water rafting in Montana. and north is Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille. If that's not enough, you can stop at Cougar Gulch on your way into Coeur d' Alene and walk the famous trail or ride your bike from the home into town and back which is the route for the world-famous Coeur d'Alene Triathlon. Just over the border into Washington, you can visit the world-famous apple orchards and pick fruit--peach, cherries, blueberries etc. depending on the month.
Winter Driving Conditions
The road conditions are usually excellent because I-95 is the main artery from Canada to Las Vegas. Depending on snow level, they are plowed every day, sometimes several times based upon the fall. If you are comfortable driving to ski resorts or through passes, the road off I-95 is easy and county maintained, and well driven thanks to the local Blackrock and National Country Clubs members. That said, last year we didn't snow didn't really hit until January 2022, but every year is different. You'll have a tree in the guest house and lots of lights to enjoy the holiday!
Pool closes Oct 15, but the Spa is open year-round.

Summary: Sarah was a wonderful host. The guest home was modern, comfortable, and had an unbeatable view. We were visiting CdA for a conference at the resort in downtown CdA. The drive was about 20 minutes, and the scenic view, hot tub, wildlife, and morning chicken coos were worth it.

Summary: Sarah and her husband have built a beautiful home over looking the lake. They were extremely accommodating and we enjoyed our chat with them. The home is cozy, clean and has everything you need to do some of your own cooking. My husband and I enjoyed the peaceful Northern Idaho setting.

Summary: What a lovely place to stay if you are looking for an out of town location, to experience life in North Idaho outside of a big town, in luxury accommodations. We enjoyed the view of the lake and modern amenities . The hot tub and view of the stars was fabulous. The road was a little scary, but we never encountered another vehicle. Wake up in the morning to sunlight and chickens crowing.

Summary: If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay with lots of beautiful scenery, look no further. This property has it all. Great views, wild life, modern ammenties and the host, Sarah, is great. Summary: The property was absolutely beautiful and serene. Amenities were superb. Hot tub/pool during sunset is a must! Sarah and Roger were the most welcoming and kind hosts we have ever encountered. My husband and I made a last minute decision to drive to CDA to elope. Sarah, Roger, and their daughters went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and special. We can't thank them enough. Would highly recommend booking for the anyone visiting the area!

Summary: This property exceeded our expectations! The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Everything was very clean and well stocked. The location and view were outstanding. It was beautiful! It was so quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the view of Lake Coeur d’ Alene and the serenity of the surrounding forest and nature. The pool and hot tub were lovely and the perfect way to relax and reconnect. It was exactly what we needed for our anniversary getaway.
